AMNIOCENTESIS-PATIENT’S STORY
Having an amniocentesis is a very difficult decision to make, but when I was told that my risk of having a baby with Down syndrome was high I made a decision to have it done, although the risk of loosing the baby existed.
It is very important to know the risks involved and collect all the information ab out the amniocentesis you can. You must trust your doctor who will perform the amniocentesis it is very important as well as very frustrating waiting 10 days for the results, but not knowing what you are carrying for 9 months is worse.
After my experience I would have it done again if necessary.
