Avoid prescribing antidepressant Paxil

Dr. Petrikovsky was named top OB/GYN by the consumers research Council of America on June 2005.

Dr. Petrikovsky said “Some pregnant women prefer to eat no animal products. If they do this, they should make sure to get enough complete protein vitamin B12 in their diets.

One can get B12 from tempeh, miso, sea vegetables, or a vitamin supplement. Vegetarian foods contain large amounts of protein including soybeans (which are really legumes), beans, peas, nuts, seeds, peanut and almond butters, and quinoa (a grain).

For example plain soymilk contains from 6 to 10 grams of protein, two tofu hotdogs contain 18 grams, a serving of whole wheat pasta contains 7 grams, 2 tablespoons of almond butter contain 8 grams, and a mere 4 ounces of tempeh (a food made from soybeans) contains 20 grams of protein, along with 100 milligrams of calcium and 6 milligrams of iron.”
